Balustrading and Stairs
Balustrading is required where the deck height is considered to be a dangerous height, and over a certain height it must comply with safety legislation. There are many options and styles of balustrade and hand rails from timber or steel slatting, to stainless steel rails and tension wires and glass panels.
Decking
A deck can be a fabulous addition to an outdoor area, particularly where there would otherwise be a step down from the house, unlike paving that requires being set down below the damp course to prevent issues with moisture, decking can be built up to the same height as the internal floors, creating a safe transition from inside to outside with no step.
Steel Structures
While timber offers flexibility of design and warmth, there are advantages for building complete structures with steel. Steel is better suited where larger spans are required, and if finished in colourbond or powder coated, steel offers low maintenance. We are happy to work with steel, timber or a mixture of materials to create the desired result for your project.
Verandahs
Verandahs are the most common additions to backyards today, because they offer an inside outside feel and can essentialy create an extra room for entertaining, and having some form of roof material fitted they provide all weather protection so they can be used in warmer or cooler months. Verandahs are often incorrectly referred to as pergolas. However a pergola is more for providing shade and by defenitionis an open roof structure and therefore does not provide shelter from wet weather.
Pergolas
By correct terminology any open roof structure is called a pergola, if there is any roofing material fitted to collect water, then the structure becomes a verandah, irrespective of the shape, size or design.
Gates and Screens
Screening
Screening can be a great way to finish off an entertaining area and create privacy, you can use screening above the maximum height allowed for fencing to create more privacy or block out an unwanted outlook.
Gates
We custom makes gate frames to suit all applications, we use steel in preference to timber for the frame, for lasting strength, and where possible, weld hinges and latches to frame and posts to ovoid movement over time.
