Verandahs are the most common additions to backyards today, because they offer an inside outside feel and can essentialy create an extra room for entertaining, and having some form of roof material fitted they provide all weather protection so they can be used in warmer or cooler months. Verandahs are often incorrectly referred to as pergolas. However a pergola is more for providing shade and by defenitionis an open roof structure and therefore does not provide shelter from wet weather.

We build a huge range of varying design verandahs, to compliment any outdoor area, the roof design can be pitched or flat with gable ends or hip ends to match an existing style or create a feature. While flat roof design is sometimes required we find that having some more pitch helps water away more quickly, keeping roof sheets cleaner and is less likely to leak or create guttering issues.

A basic verandah design can make a huge difference to the functionality of a house, but there are many options in addition to make it something more elaborate, such as lined ceilings, rendered columns, gable infill's, ceiling fans, lighting and outdoor blinds etc.

By adding some screening and other features to a basic verandah structure you can create an alfresco area to compliment your home and make the most of our mild climate, we are seeing more and more comforts that were reserved for indoors being utilised in outdoor structures, for example, couches, tvs, fireplaces, kitchens etc.
